What to do in Barbados
These are the places we send friends and family to when they visit. Nothing is sponsored. Nothing is a paid partnership. If it's on this page it's because we've been there, enjoyed it, and would go back tomorrow.
Barbados is a small island, and nothing is more than an hour from the apartment. Rent a car for a few days, or grab a ZR van (the local minibuses) for a fraction of the price of a taxi.
Where to swim and relax
The south coast is where you'll spend most beach days. The east and west offer completely different landscapes, both worth a full day.
Bathsheba Beach
Wild Atlantic surf, towering rock formations and a completely different Barbados. A must-see day trip for the views alone.
Carlisle Bay
Sheltered west-coast bay perfect for swimming with turtles and exploring shallow shipwrecks by snorkel or catamaran.
Crane Beach
Consistently ranked among the world's best beaches. Pink-tinted sand, dramatic cliffs and rolling Atlantic waves.

From casual rum shops to proper sit-down dinners, these are our reliable go-tos within a short drive.
St Lawrence Gap
Ten minutes from the apartment. The island's dining hub, where the best restaurants, rum bars and live music cluster together, with something for every night of the week.
Brown Sugar
A local favourite for authentic Bajan cuisine served in a leafy garden setting near Bridgetown. Their Planter's Buffet lunch is a rite of passage.
Things to do
A few days of doing nothing by the pool is exactly the point. When you're ready for a change of scene, most activities can be arranged through local operators.

Bridgetown Garrison and Historic District
A UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the best-preserved examples of British colonial architecture in the Caribbean. Walk the Garrison Savannah, tour the old military buildings, and time your visit to see the Changing of the Sentry.
Combine it with a wander along the Bridgetown waterfront and lunch nearby for a full, easy day out.
